Our research group brings together a diverse team of individuals, each contributing unique expertise in marine science, digital technology, engineering and environmental conservation. The group includes experienced academics and researchers who lead groundbreaking studies in digital marine monitoring, scientific diving, and marine ecology. They are joined by visiting academics from industry and research institutions worldwide, fostering an environment of collaboration and knowledge exchange. Their combined experience enriches our research, enabling us to address complex marine challenges with innovative, interdisciplinary approaches. Together, this diverse team leads projects that not only advance academic knowledge but also have real-world applications in marine conservation and sustainable resource management.
Alongside our senior researchers, our group includes dedicated postdoctoral researchers, PhD students, and MSc students who contribute significantly to our research projects. These emerging scientists work on cutting-edge projects, gaining hands-on experience in both the field and our advanced facilities. Our PhD students specialize in areas such as deep learning for marine data analysis, VR/AR modeling of marine habitats, and underwater imaging techniques. Our alumni remain engaged in the field, with many pursuing careers in academia, industry, and environmental organizations, where they continue to make impactful contributions to marine science and conservation.
